Policies & FAQ

Everything to know before your appointment, all in one place.

Cancellations & no-shows

  • Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule so we can offer the slot to another pup.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice: $50 fee.
  • No-show (no one home when the groomer arrives): $100 fee.
  • We confirm every appointment the day before. If we can't reach you to confirm, the appointment will need to be rescheduled.

Matting & skin condition

  • Removing heavy mats can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions, even with careful handling.
  • Mats can trap moisture against the skin, which can lead to irritation, redness, itching or infection that may only show after mats are removed.
  • Severely matted coats are charged extra and may need to be shaved for the dog's comfort.
  • We are not responsible for injuries from mat removal or for pre-existing skin or health conditions found during or after grooming.

Arrival & payment

  • Arrival times come with a 1-hour window, since timing depends on traffic and on the grooming of the pups before yours. We'll call if we're running early or late.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover and cash. No personal checks.
  • Pricing is based on good coat condition and the size you provide. Inaccurate information may change the price.

Age & weight limits

  • For the safety of your pet and our groomers, we groom dogs up to 12 years old and up to 100 lbs.
  • Not sure if your dog qualifies? Mention their age and weight when you request an appointment and we'll let you know.

Frequently asked questions

How often should my dog be groomed?

Every 4 to 6 weeks for most dogs, depending on breed, coat type and activity level. We're happy to set up recurring appointments.

Why don't you give an exact arrival time?

We never rush a groom, for your dog's safety. You'll get a 1-hour arrival window and a courtesy call if we're running early or late.

Can I request a specific style?

Absolutely, as long as the coat isn't matted. Tell us your preferences when you book so we schedule enough time.

Do you use tranquilizers?

Never. If a dog is unhappy we may use a muzzle for everyone's safety. If a dog stays aggressive while muzzled, the groomer may stop the groom.

Do you offer special shampoos?

Yes, including oatmeal and other formulas for delicate skin. We pick products based on your dog's skin and coat.

Should I shave my double-coated dog for summer?

We don't recommend it. Double coats (Huskies, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Aussies and similar) help regulate temperature, and shaving can lead to overheating and sunburn.
